I think it is great that more officers are stepping up and running weekday raids.  If my schedule allowed I'd be on more often to join in.  However, on many evenings I teach an afterschool class to earn extra money to help put my daughter through school.  I live on the west coast so GH raids start at 4p.m.  if I was on the East coast 7pm would be much easier to attend.  Grey Horizon posts its MAIN raid times as Friday night, Saturdays, and Sundays.

This brings me to my opinion.  I feel that the dkp given because of low numbers seems excessive on the raids that Sarkus does not lead.  We got a first time win dkp of 30.... yet just for not having work and being able to log in last night everyone was given much more just to sit in hall.  I think weekday raids should be considered bonus for those people who can come.  Seems like this is meant as punishment for those people with other commitments.

I agree with Sam but also when raids were over on Sunday i saw that there was raids on Wednesday with Darkman and Aulu leading in the MOTD . I wasn't even aware that there were raids being held on Monday or Tuesday this week so pretty hard to show up to them if they aren't put up further in advance. so i can see why the numbers were really low those days. Some people cant raid 5 plus days a week and  to get the same amount of dkp for 30 mins in the hall as 5 or 6 hours on a Saturday or Sunday doesn't seem really fair to me. People come to expect high dkp for doing nothing. i logged on Wednesday and we had near 40 ppl on and we have ppl saying  they dont want to raid anything they just wanting big dkp for showing up and call it, Id rather earn dkp trying to raid than to just say lets just get big dkp and do nothing to try and earn it.

I think dkp given out for low numbers and raids called is absolutely rediculious. We get less dkp working our asses off in real raids.

To be fair Sarkus has given out massive dkp for staying late or low numbers before also.  Maybe we should have a sign up list to see if anyone is going to be on for a raid on weeknights.  I am sick and tired of logging on every time a raid is called and not raiding. I am frustrated by being part of a backbone of raiders that show up when others do not.  So to show the opposite side why should I show up to raid when others do not if I do not get a benefit?  We allow part timers to bid against full time raiders at a very low 30 percent, we allow them to horde DKP and never lose it when they are absent for long periods of time.  Then they come back and bid huge amounts on upgrades that would benefit full time raiders and skip sometimes up to 3 expansions.  YOU all know my solution would be to give 10 points for showing up 1 point at a time to lower the bidding power of those who are not full time raiders. Or just move back raid times and raid shorter amounts of time. If we raid just 8pm to 10pm EST that would allow folks to have a better chance to get on and I would rather do one raid with decent numbers  then sit around for an hour doing nothing. The other solution would be to move to an hour based DKP system.  That way if we are there for 1 hour waiting for non loggers we get the same DKP we would have if we raided.  I realize you want to make things fair Sam , but frankly those who log on deserve to be rewarded even if we don't raid.

Maybe we (I) have been a little too generous with DKP for weekday raids.  I completely see your point.
What you need to understand tho is as an officer making the plans, determining whats open, forming groups, fielding tells, and then waiting...waiting...and people don't show...or not enough or, my favorite (not really), not the right classes for the targets available to us.  I guess I feel all those people tried to be here and have something happen.  There is a level of frustration and a desire to thank those that did show.  I will think on how to handle this better.
I welcome constructive criticism (complements are nice too, lol).  Sometimes things need to be pointed out we don't see.
One last point.  Darkman and I work together on weekday raids determining which day(s) we are both available to lead because we choose to lead together (makes life easier for both of us).  We only put up 1-2 raid days so we can lock out lower stuff and the guild can focus on the top targets when we have the most on - weekends.  I, personally, don't want to dedicate my entire week to raiding.  all of us have other things to do then JUST be on EQ raiding.
Again I'm only speaking for myself and Dark.  I don't know how the other officers handle things when I am not on.
