Interesting topic,

I think we should divide the platinum, and send it to those who won visible items (Breastplate, Arms, legs, ect...) from that chest. Then whatever is left of the platinum from making the gear should go to guild tribute.

I don't know about you guys, but I ain't swimming in platinum. So any bit of platinum that isn't spent on gear helps me resupply my needs; Gate potions, HoT pots, spell poisons, arrow reagents, you name it.

Now if this is just a stupid idea, we can go back to racing to get to the chest first...

I had no idea that whoever opens the chest gets showered with plat...so who has been getting it all?

My vote would be for the guild to provide the emeralds the clerics have been casting for years... and any other things that are needed by classes casting during raid.

Sarkus already said what he wanted to happen with VoA chests. Prior to starting event, we /random and the top roller is set as the only looter of the chest, so they have a 2 min after chest is open window to loot the money and link the loot to raid.

Or... Sarkus/Spine could just loot all the plat and put it towards Guild Tribute donation. (probably what the devs intended the plat to go towards?)

Would save us time from rolling and it's actually going towards a good cause instead of someone just pocketing it all.

OK My 2-cents



There are several ways this can be handled:

1) Sarkus can be the looter each and every time, to eliminate the catalyst that leads to arguments.

2) We can continue random-ing it....Provided any player that has won a roll, not be allowed to roll for a minimum of 30 days. (that gives everyone a chance of winning at least once a month, if not more often) Have someone record it. (I can volunteer, since Im not participating in the rolls) If there is a time that no one is eligible to open, Sarkus opens and it goes to Tribute.

3) Sarkus can loot it, split it up amongst Group leaders...and the group leaders do a /split.

4) We can create a bot to hold the coin (again Sarkus loots) until we need it for guild use. Such as Emeralds, and the expensive components that make up our raid gear (Filaments, coal, etc), Spell components, Levi pots, invis pots, things needed for raids, etc. This would help the guild by helping those that do tradeskills FOR the guild (heal pots, poisons, etc)




I could set up a poll to see what the general consensus wants....or we leave it up to the officers to choose.

Any way that is decided on, lets not stoop to throwing punches....this is a legitimate concern for many, and its understood....so lets solve it properly..

Anything that is done proactively is going to be an improvement over the way it has been done inn the past. I am huge contributer to guild tribute because of my tradeskills etc so I am all for that. Having offficers set up a fund to help buy the raid templates is also a good idea. If we random i doubt i wioudl roll because franklyl i have plenty of plat and dont need it. I also dont need plat to buy emeralds etc. What irks me is we have allowed for so long a few folks who can or do get to the chest so very very quickly get the cash. So lets do something even it its sharing the wealth by randoming at least that way teh same folks wont be getting it all the time.

A few things.

1. Barnwyr, why be snarky with Recnarp's idea? Its a decent idea. Its better than many ideas I have heard, just picking one out of a hat here for example, but its better than just disappearing from somewhere without saying anything.

2. Sarkus already stated what would be done with the chests. It's working fine, and we have only done it for one raid night, so lets see how this system that we have in place works over a few weeks before we look to change everything.

3. Please keep in mind that any solution we attempt must balance functionality with fairness. What I mean by this is; obviously the fairest thing would be to have 1 person loot it all, then get a calculator, then find out how much each gets (plus sit out), then deliver that amount to each person, taking time to TRACK THEM DOWN, etc...and 2 hours later we could start next event. Obviously that is an exaggeration and wouldnt work. But the point is, we need to do what is most fair action that takes the shortest, lest obstructive amount of time.

4. Sarkus has the final call on what is done with the raid chest platinum. However, personally speaking, I would prefer if the raid chest was always looted by the raid leader, and that platinum was used in the following way:

At the end of every raid night, the raid leader takes the platinum he has looted, and goes to the lobby. He buys 500 emeralds or so and puts in guild bank (to make sure we have some), gives 4-5k to each person who won armor (i know its more expensive than that for template to make armor. I dont want to pay for it all, just give a little bump). Whatever is left the raid leader would donate into the guild tribute that we all use, all turn on when we are grouping (trophy tab...at least many do), and all forget to turn off.
